Camp's caption written above the image reads, in full: "One Sunday we went out to the campus to take some pictures. We were very careful to make our pictures look intellectual - by the background."
Una Lenore Camp grew up in South Bend, Indiana before graduating from Indiana University in 1917 with a Bachelor of Arts (with high distinction) in Mathematics. She was also awarded a varsity letter and was elected to a national honors society. After graduation, she taught high school math and Latin until for more than 30 years.
