At the Martin Luther King Recreation Center, a dancer entertains people who participated in a march decrying the murder of Trayvon Martin.
In its new home in the transformed Engman Natatorium, the Civil Rights Heritage Center became a trusted and valued partner in today’s civil rights movement. For example, after the death of Trayvon Martin, third CRHC Director Kevin James organized a city-wide march. Hundreds of people wearing a hoodie as Martin did when he was murdered marched from downtown South Bend past the Center to the Martin Luther King Recreation Center.
