The students who worked to form the Civil Rights Heritage Center had allies in their faculty and administration. Dr. Les Lamon, leader of the first Freedom Summer class, was joined by Dr. Alfred Guillaume, Executive Vice Chancellor. Both provided early leadership and support for the fledgling Center.
