PHYLLIS CHESLER

ON MOTHERHOOD
Phyllis Chester is a noted author, lecturer, and psychologist. Well-known for her recent books Women and Madness, Women, Money & Power (with Emily Jane Goodman;, and About Men, Phyllis Chesler has the unique ability of saying new things about old subjects. She does so, moreover, in ways that are so original or so poetic that she both thrills and challenges the intellects of her listeners. We are especially privileged to have her in South Bend reading from her new (just finished)manuscript-With Child: A Diary of Motherhood. Following the reading, she has offered to remain for an extended period of questions from the audience. No one will want to miss this exciting event!

A FUND-RAISER
These events have been planned to raise money for the publication of The Holy Book of Women's Mysteries. The book brings together sacred knowledge and rituals that have been passed down through the oral tradition for thousands of years. Much of the knowledge has not been codified since the burning of the great libraries at Alexandria in the fourth century A.D.
Although Z. Budapest has been contributing all of her income toward the publication of The Holy Book, there still remains at least $6,000 to be raised. (Publication costs are rising very quickly.) Phyllis Chesler has donated her time free for this fund-raiser. All proceeds will go toward the book. If you can contribute anything in addition to the cost of your tickets, you will be supporting a unique publishing event--one that cannot take place without your assistance,· Checks made out to COVENANT OF THE GODDESS -BOOK FUND are tax deductible.
Money for refreshments goes to support ticket costs for unemployed women & THE SOUTH BEND WOMEN'S NEWS (free publication). People who do not have ticket costs should speak to Gloria Kaufman or Jeanne Courtney, 288-7165.
