Black Oak Spring Water Advertisement, May 25, 1914

This advertisement was featured in the Monday, May 25, 1914 edition of the The Times newspaper in Munster, IN. This ad is marketing the Black Oak Spring Water, sold by Pure Water Company, that was discussed in Dorothy Waters' oral history interview. It details the qualities of Black Oak Spring Water, dubbing it "Wonderful, pure water." The advertisement features an illustration of one of the glass water bottles. The label on the drawing reads, "This Bottle Contains 128Ounces Black Oak Spring Water" and also includes the company slogan. The slogan reads, "Pure. Sparkling. Delicious." The bottom of the label reads, "Bottled at the Springs by | Phones {2293 1967" with "Pure Water Co., Hammond, Ind." as the finishing touch.
They also include a coupon with the advertisement. The coupon is good for one free gallon of water delivered directly to the customer's door. The Pure Water Company claims to have added this benefit because they desire "That everyone in Hammond may acquaint himself with the sparkling purity of this wonderful water we have made this startling offer to deliver a Full Gallon Bottle Free!"
