Dear National Humor Scholar:
In a month we will have to begin preparing a brochure which will be a call for papers, and which will list the members of the International and National Advisory Committees.
We are now in the process of establishing these National and International Advisory Committees, and we are writing to ask if you would be a member of the National Advisory Committee. If you accept this responsibility, you would have to make whatever arrangements are necessary to attend, and make a presentation at the sixth international WHIM humor conference, which will take place from April 1 to April 5, 1987 at the Memorial Union of Arizona State University in Tempe, Arizona. You will also need to send us your proposal, and your $'.:i 0.00 registration fee. Please note, that this $50.00 also pays for three meals, for coffee breaks, and for a copy of the proceedings , which for the first time will be in journal format.
If we have not received your proposal and membership fee within a month, we will assume that you are not interested in being a member of the National Advisory Committee.
We hope to hear from you soon.
