Pulling Our Own Strings, 1980

The following item began to appear in the feminist press in 1976: “An anthology of Feminist Humor is being compiled at Indiana University because ‘no political movement can last without a sense of humor’…Feminist jokes and stories – true, untrue, or in-between – may be sent to Gloria Kaufman.” Of the end result, a reviewer for Sojourner said she “wanted to see more writing about working and living and loving other women,” but offered “applause and affection for its editors,” calling it “an important contribution.”
